* Police arrest underworld leader Wele Suda’s sister and her paramour in Hakmana

Sept 14, Colombo: The police have arrested the sister of underworld criminal W W. Samantha Kumara alias Wele Suda who is in jail for heroin trafficking, and her paramour in Hakmana on the 12th.

The suspects were arrested in a raid carried out by a team of special police officers on a tip off received by Hakmana OIC Chief Inspector Nalin Weerawardena and Special Bureau Police Sergeant Chandana (52681).

The suspects were arrested while staying at a lodge in the Hakmana area on suspicion of drug trafficking. The suspects had arrived in the Hakmana area in a car from the Colombo area and the car they were traveling in was also taken into custody by the police.

The driver of the car was found in possession of 4.94 grams of Kerala cannabis in his possession during a search of his room at the lodge. He was arrested and after producing before the Deyiyandara Magistrate remanded until Monday 14th.

Police are conducting further investigations regarding the other two suspects.
