* Coronavirus update: 239 new COVID-19 cases identified Saturday, total rises to 10,663

Oct 31, Colombo: According to the Department of Government Information, 239 new Covid-19 cases were reported from Divulapitiya and Peliyagoda clusters so far on Saturday.

Among them, 180 patients are associates of infected from Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster and fisheries harbors and 59 persons are associates or staff from quarantine centers.

According to the Government Information Department report at 10 pm Saturday, a total of 10,663 COVID-19 cases have been reported and 6,244 patients are under medical care at hospitals. Another 399 individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Nineteen patients have died while 4,399 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 500,736 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to October 30, according to the Health Promotion Bureau report.
