* Coronavirus update: 633 new COVID-19 cases identified Friday, total rises to 10,424

Oct 30, Colombo: According to the Department of Government Information, 633 new Covid-19 cases were reported from Divulapitiya and Peliyagoda clusters so far on Friday.

Among them, 595 patients are associates of infected from Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster and fisheries harbors and 138 persons are associates or staff from quarantine centers.

The Department of Government Information said the total number of COVID-19 cases from the Divulapitiya and Peliyagoda Clusters has risen to 6,946.

According to the Government Information Department report at 10.20 pm Friday, a total of 10,424 COVID-19 cases have been reported and 6,123 patients are under medical care at hospitals. Another 444 individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Nineteen patients have died while 4,282 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 490,563PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to October 29, according to the Health Promotion Bureau report.
