* Coronavirus update: 335 new COVID-19 cases identified Wednesday, total rises to 9,205

Oct 28, Colombo: According to the Department of Government Information, 335 new Covid-19 cases were reported from Divulapitiya and Peliyagoda clusters so far on Wednesday.

Among them, 106 patients are associates of infected from Peliyagoda COVID cluster and 27 persons are associates or staff from quarantine centers. Another 202 people are associates of the infected in Divulapitiya and Peliyagoda clusters and out of them 140 are from curfew imposed areas.

The Department of Government Information said the total number of COVID-19 cases from the Divulapitiya and Peliyagoda Clusters is 5,731.

According to the Government Information Department report at 10:30 pm Wednesday, a total of 9,205 COVID-19 cases have been reported and 5,111 patients are under medical care at hospitals.

Nineteen patients have died while 4,075 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 469,286 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to October 27, according to the Health Promotion Bureau report.
