* Sri Lanka Parliament to debate 20th Amendment to the Constitution on Oct 21, 22

Oct 16, Colombo: The Committee on Parliamentary Business has decided to take the 20th Amendment to the Constitution for debate on the 21st and the 22nd of October, Parliament Communications Department announced.

The Committee on Parliamentary Business, which met today, has decided that the sittings of Parliament will convene from 10.00 am until 7.30 pm on the 21st and the 22nd of October.

The Committee Stage will commence at 7.30 pm on October 22 after the end of the debate.

The Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena is expected to announce the Supreme Court decision on the 20th Amendment to the Constitution in Parliament on the 20th October. The decision of the Supreme Court on the 20th Amendment to the Constitution has been conveyed in confidential to the President and the Speaker.
