* Coronavirus Update: Minuwangoda garment factory COVID-19 cluster rises to 1044

Oct 08, Colombo: The Minuwangoda garment factory coronavirus cluster rose to 1044 by this evening with the identification of another 10 COVID-19 positive workers, the Government Information Department said.

As of yesterday, the number of infected persons was 1034.

According to the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO), a total of 207 persons were confirmed positive to COVID-19 by this morning (08). Among them were 202 from Minuwangoda Garment factory and the rest 5 were expatriates (3 from Russia at Pitipana QC and 2 Indian seafarers).

As of 6:30 pm today Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases rose to 4,469 and 1,178 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals. Another 289 Individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals, while 3,278 have been recovered and discharged.
