Nov 30, Colombo: According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 503 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Monday.
Among the positive cases identified Thursday are 496 close contacts of the infected from Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster and 07 persons arrived from overseas and currently in quarantine including three from the United Arab Emirates, one each from Qatar and Uganda, and two sailors.
According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 11:30 pm Monday, a total of 23,987COVID-19 cases have been reported and 6,307 patients are being treated at hospitals. Another 545 individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.
Sri Lanka reported 118 deaths and 17,503 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
A total of 827,928 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to November 29, according to the Health Promotion Bureau.
