* Coronavirus update: 491 new COVID-19 cases identified Saturday, total rises to 19,771

Nov 21, Colombo: According to Epidemiology Unit of the Health Ministry, 491 new COVID-19 cases were reported so far on Saturday.

Among the positive cases identified Tuesday are 487close contacts of the infected from Peliyagoda COVID-19 cluster and four arrived from overseas including three arrived from Italy and one arrived from Turkey, currently in quarantine.

According to the Epidemiology Unit report at 11 pm Saturday, a total of 19,771 COVID-19 cases have been reported and 6,098 patients are being treated at hospitals. Another 462 individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Sri Lanka reported 83 deaths and 13,590 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 724,864 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to November 20, according to the Health Promotion Bureau.
