* Long-distance service buses as usual, no train services on weekend

Nov 20, Colombo: The long distance buses will be operated as usual on the weekend Saturday (21) and Sunday Deputy General Manager of the Sri Lanka Transport Board Mr. H. A. Panduka said.

He added that passengers would not be picked up from or dropped off in isolated areas.

Mr. Panduka further said that the depot managers have been instructed to add buses to the normal operation in other areas.

However, no passenger trains will run on the weekend, General Manager of Railways MJD Fernando said.

Accordingly, trains will not run tomorrow (21) and the day after tomorrow (22).

It is said that these measures have been taken in view of the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic.
