Nov 08, Colombo: Head of the National Operation Center for Prevention of Covid-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) Army Commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva states that the quarantine curfew imposed in the Western Province and other police areas will be lifted from 5.00 am tomorrow (Nov 09).
However, the Army Commander further stated that despite the lifting of the curfew tomorrow the areas isolated due to the spread of the coronavirus will continue be isolated.
Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva states that, the following police areas and Grama Niladhari Divisions will continue to be further isolated until further notice.
Accordingly, in the Western Province:
Mattakkuliya, Modara, Bloemendal, Kotahena, Grandpass, Coastal Police, Aduruppu Veediya, Maligawatte, Dematagoda, Wellampitiya, Borella and Keselwatta police divisions are further isolated.
Methsanda Sewana, Mihijaya Sewana, Modara Ranmina Sewana, Sirisanda Uyana Dematagoda, and Maligawatta NHS Houses
housing schemes have been identified as high risk areas for the spread of Covid-19 and the residents are advised to stay indoors without even moving between the housing units.
Wattala, Peliyagoda, Sapugaskanda, Kadawatha, Ragama, Negombo, Pamunugama, Ja-Ela Police divisions
Horana, Ingiriya and Wekada West Grama Niladhari Division
Kurunegala town area, Kuliyapitiya Police Division
Mawanella and Ruwanwella police Divisions
The Army Commander also reminded that the necessary facilities are in place to provide essential items and medicines to the people in the isolated areas.
