Nov 07, Colombo: The COVID-19 epidemic situation in Sri Lanka has now reached its third level, Specialist Dr. Palitha Karunaprema, Director of Health Promotion Bureau said at a media briefing yesterday.
According to the new guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health, the COVID 19 situation is subject to change from time to time and an alert level system with four levels has been introduced based on an understanding of public and work settings in Sri Lanka.
Alert level 1 is when cases reported are only those coming from outside the country (detected in quarantine) and no clusters while Alert level 2 is when there is one cluster of cases.
The country is at Alert Level 3 when several clusters in different districts are reported and when cases are appearing with no connection to any cluster it will be Community transmission at Alert level 4. Functions permitted in the country will depend on the country alert level.
The Ministry of Health will announce the alert level based on the epidemiological situation of COVID 19 in the country.
The Ministry announced that currently the country is considered as in Alert Level 3 and said strong observance of DReAM is required.

A- aseptic practices ( hand wash ,hand sanitizing )
