* New Navy Commander calls on President

July 15, Colombo: Newly appointed Navy Commander, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne called on President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Sri Lanka Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat, today (15th July).

Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne assumed duties as the 24th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy after receiving his letter of appointment yesterday.

In keeping with the tradition, the new Navy Commander met with the President and during the ensuing cordial discussion, the President conveyed his best wishes to Vice Admiral Ulugetenne on his new appointment as the Commander of the Navy.

Symbolizing his first official call on the President upon assumption of duties as the 24th Commander of the Sri Lanka Navy, Vice Admiral Nishantha Ulugetenne presented a special memento to Predesign Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
