July 15, Colombo: The Director General of Health Services, Dr. Anil Jasinghe says that there is no need to impose a curfew on the country at this time to curb further spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
The Director General of Health Services said that at present there is no tendency for the infection with the coronavirus to spread across the country and that action will be taken if any problem arises.
So far, 532 COVID-19 patients have been reported from the cluster at the Kandakadu Rehabilitation Center, the Director General of Health Services said. He added that 25 of the reported cases were from the homes of those who worked at the Kandakadu Rehabilitation Center.
Dr. Jasinghe said there is no need to hide any news regarding the spread of the coronavirus and that steps would be taken to make all information available to the public.
The Director General of Health Services said results have been obtained from 3000 PCR tests that have been carried out on the coronavirus cluster at the Kandakadu Rehabilitation Center and further PCR tests will be conducted at many places in the island in the future.
