July 05, Colombo: The Sri Lanka Police have received Rs 75.8 million for the removal of illegal election propaganda work for the general election, the Police Headquarters said.
In addition to the police officers, 1,539 workers have been recruited at Police Station level to remove propaganda activities, according to sources at the Police Headquarters.
These workers, along with police officers, are already removing posters, banners and cutouts belonging to candidates, police sources said.
Displaying Candidates' numbers, posters, cutouts, and digital propaganda for the parliamentary election on 5th August are completely banned. <
