* Coronavirus update: Sri Lanka COVID-19 cases rise to 2066 with 12 new patients Thursday

July 02, Colombo: Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases rose to 2066 today with 12 more persons testing positive for the coronavirus, the Health Ministry said.

According to the Health Promotion Bureau report, as of 8 pm Wednesday, 228 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals. Another 58 Individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Eleven patients have died while 1,827 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 109,106 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to June 30, according to the Health Promotion Bureau report.
