July 02, Colombo: Former Sri Lanka Cricket Captain Kumar Sangakkara has arrived at the Special Investigative Unit (SIU) of the Sports Ministry to give a statement over match the 2011 World Cup match fixing allegations made by former minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage.

Sports Ministry’s Special Investigation Unit commenced the probe last month following the allegation by former Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage that the 2011 ICC World Cup Final between India and Sri Lanka was fixed.

Sangakkara was captain of the Sri Lankan team at that time.

Former Selection Committee Chairman Aravinda de Silva and cricketer Upul Tharanga have given statements earlier.
