* Coronavirus update: Sri Lanka COVID-19 cases rise to 2054 with 7 new patients Wednesday

July 01, Colombo: Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases rose to 2054 today with 7 more persons testing positive for the coronavirus, the Health Ministry said.

According to the Health Promotion Bureau report, as of 10 pm Wednesday, 295 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals. Another 55 Individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Eleven patients have died while 1,748 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 107,810 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to June 30, according to the Health Promotion Bureau report.
