Dec 24, Colombo: The Avissawella, Kosgama and Ruwanwella police divisions will be designated as isolated with immediate effect, the National Operations Center for the Prevention of the Spread of Covid-19 informed.

Meanwhile Army Commander Lt. Gen. Shavendra Silva has denied reports that a quarantine curfew has been imposed from midnight today (24).

The Army Commander has instructed the public to stay home as much as possible and celebrate Christmas as there is a risk of the coronavirus spreading while traveling from the Western Province to other parts of the country.
