* Export Development Board chairman resigns

Dec 03, Colombo: Chairman of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB) Prabhash Subasinghe has resigned from his post, according to EDB sources.

Mr. Prabhash Subasinghe, who had been the Chairman of the Export Development Board for a period of one year since December last year, has decided to resign from his post to focus more on his other business ventures, Lankadeepa reported.

Prabhash Subasinghe is the Managing Director of Global Rubber Industries (Pvt) Ltd and Global Sea Foods (Pvt) Ltd. In addition, Mr. Subasinghe is the President of the Sri Lanka Rubber Manufacturers and Rubber Producers Exporters Association. He is a leading shareholder in a number of leading companies in Sri Lanka and is also a major shareholder in Ceylinco Insurance.

As the Chairman of the Export Development Board, Prabhash Subasinghe has played a significant role in maintaining the export process in Sri Lanka even during the COVID-19 epidemic.
