Thu, Dec 3, 2020, 01:17 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Dec 03, Colombo: The Mannar United Fisheries Association says that 65 boats anchored in the Mannar Pesalai fishing harbor were swept away by the cyclone this morning (03).

The Fishermen's Association says a large number of fishing boats have been damaged due to the collision on the rocks and with each other.

More than 150 fishing huts in Pesalai and Mannar have been swept away by the winds.

Meanwhile, 11 boats belonging to fishermen in the Mannar region have not been found so far and the fishermen believe that they may have been swept away towards India.

A church worshiped by fishermen in Pesalai was also destroyed by the cyclone and several parts of it were washed into the sea.
