Dec 03, Colombo: Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that legal action will be taken to arrest a person involved in obstructing the duties of a Public Health Inspector (PHI) who was attempting to treat a COVID-19 infected person in the Atulugama area in Bandaragama.

It has been reported that the Covid-19 infected person from Atulugama has spat on the face of a PHI who attempted to transfer the patient for medical treatment, police said.

The Police Spokesman said the COVID-19 patient has refused to cooperate and verbally assaulting the PHI has spat on the face of the health Officer.

The spokesman said the police has initiated an investigation into this incident.
