* Schools in the Northern Province will be closed Thursday and Friday

Dec 02, Colombo: All schools in the Northern Province will be closed tomorrow (03) and the day after tomorrow (04) due to Cyclone Burevi.

It was decided yesterday (01) that all schools in the Eastern Province will be closed from tomorrow to next Friday.

Eastern Province Governor Anuradha Yahampatha stated that the decision was taken due to a red notice issued by the Meteorological Department.

Meanwhile, Cyclone Burevi is centered about 200 km east-southeast of Trincomalee at 0830 hrs today, the Meteorology Department said. The system is very likely to move west-northwestwards and cross north-eastern coast of Sri Lanka between Trincomalee and Point-Pedro, close to Mullaitivu around tonight between 7.00 p.m-10.00 p.m.
