Dec 01, Colombo: Business leader Susantha Ratnayake has resigned as the Chairman of the Board of Investment, (BOI), Sri Lanka’s investment promotion agency after one year at the post.
Ratnayake has reportedly resigned from the post due to personal reasons while he had agreed to serve for a year only.
“I took up this position based on the understanding that I would hold it for only one year. Therefore I have conveyed to His Excellency President Gotabaya Rajapaksa that the period is up and therefore I need to take some time off,” he has told The Morning.
Ratnayake was appointed as BOI Chairman in mid-December 2019. He had served as the Chairman and CEO of John Keells Holdings PLC from January 2006 until his retirement in December 2018.
