* Coronavirus update: Sri Lanka COVID-19 cases rise to 2,834 with 6 more infected persons

Aug 04, Colombo: Sri Lanka’s COVID-19 cases rose to 2,834 today with 6 more persons testing positive for the coronavirus, the Health Ministry said.

According to the Health Promotion Bureau report, as of 6 pm Thursday, 299 patients are receiving treatment at hospitals. Another 69 Individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.

Eleven patients have died while 2,524 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

A total of 165,342 PCR tests have been conducted to detect Covid-19 infected persons from February 18 to July 26, according to the report.
