May 29, Colombo: The United National Party (UN) has decided to cancel the membership of 99 party members including the deputy leader Sajith Premadasa who joined the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) under Premadasa.

The Working Committee of the UNP at its meeting held this morning unanimously approved the decision of the UNP leadership to suspend the membership of 99 UNP members including Sajith Premadasa who handed nominations to contest the elections from the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.

With this decision, Sajith Premadasa will lose the post of Deputy Leader of the UNP and the electoral organizer post as well as the Working Committee membership.
