May 21, Colombo: The Presidential Task Force (PTF) at the National Operation Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) has discussed the possibilities of legalizing health rules introduced to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
The Presidential Task Force co-chaired by Minister of Health and Indigenous Medical Services Mrs Pavithra Wanniarachchi and the Head of the NOCPCO, Army commander Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva met Wednesday evening, together with Director General of Health Services Dr Anil Jasinghe, experts and other stake holders to discuss the COVID-19 prevention measures.
The members of the Task Force evaluated updates and touched on the question of continued health safety for the general public.
Discussions focused on possibilities of legalizing general health rules for the benefit of the general public and promotion of health tourism across the country as a viable alternative to attract tourists in the future.
They also took stock of the status quo, risks persisting, conduct of PRC tests, arrival of expatriates and the progress of ongoing preventive work, quarantine procedures, movements of cured patients, outside developments and weather impacts, etc. present status of the epidemic, the NOCPCO said.
