Mar 29, Colombo: First batch of China’s donations of masks, test kits and PPEs have been handed to the Minister of Health Pavithra Wanniarachchi today at the Ministry premises.

Accordingly 50,000 Surgical Masks and 1,000 Test Kits were cleared from Sri Lanka Customs and handed to the Health Ministry by the Chinese Embassy in Colombo.

The Global leading ICT & 5G Giant HUAWEI, donated 10,000 Surgical Masks, 200 sets of PPE, 100 Protective Eyes Glasses and 30 bottles(50L) of Hand Sanitizer to Health Ministry and the front line workers, the Embassy said

Meanwhile, China Merchants Port Group, with CICT (Colombo Port) and HIPG (Hambantota Port), donated 1000 sets of PPE gowns to the Sri Lankan Government, safeguarding more medical workers on front line against COVID-19 in the island.

China has pledged to donate 100,000 masks including 10,000 N95 masks and 20,000 test kits to Sri Lanka in the coming days.
