* No bail for curfew violators, legal action against quarantine evaders - Police
Fri, Mar 27, 2020, 11:29 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Mar 27, Colombo: Police Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ajith Rohana says that those arrested for violating curfew will no longer receive police bail. He further said that the violators will be produced before courts and remanded.

Meanwhile, legal action will be taken against three coronavirus-infected people who were found yesterday evading quarantine and spreading the disease, DIG Rohana said.

He further stated that three investigations have been started and the suspected individuals will be prosecuted in courts for hiding information about the infection and violating quarantine law after an investigation.

He urged the public, who had come into contact with people, who are either infected or suspected of being infected, to inform the authorities and support the government’s efforts to prevent the disease from spreading in the country.
