Mar 26, Colombo: The Sri Lankan government has declared the week from March 30 - April 03 as a "Work from Home" week to strengthen the government’s efforts to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country, President’s Media Division announced.
All state, semi-state and private sector entities except those designated as essential services come under this category. This period is not considered as a public holiday.
It is the government’s responsibility to continue the public service uninterrupted while the aim is to prevent people from gathering and allowing them to self-quarantine.
The week from March 20 to 27 was also declared as a “Work From Home” week and the government informs that this process should be continued within the upcoming week.
