* Presidential Secretariat announces Curfew times

Mar 25, Colombo: The Presidential Secretariat has announced the lifting and re-imposing times of the island wide curfew, which is already in force, to prevent citizens from violating the regulations and provisions of Quarantine and Prevention of Diseases Ordinance, and to halt the spread of COVID 19 or new Coronavirus.

The on-going island-wide curfew will be lifted and re-imposed as follows.

1. Curfew declared for Colombo, Gampaha, and Kalutara districts at present will be in effect until further notice.

2. Curfew, which is in force at present for Puttalam, Vavuniya, Mannar, Kilinochchi, Mullaitive and Jaffna districts, will be lifted at 06.00 a.m. March 27 and will be imposed again with effect from 12.00 noon on the same day.

3.Curfew imposed for the remaining districts of the Island will be tifted at 06.00 am. tomorrow (26th) and will be imposed once again with effect from 12.00 noon on the same day.

Transportation Is completely suspended across all districts of the Island. Moreover,transporting foreign tourists to different locations is also prohibited.

During the time when the curfew is in force, farmers, those who are engaged in Tea Small Holdings and export crop production process in any district are granted permission to engage in their work.

The Media services and the transportation of essential goods including rice and vegetable will be granted permission.

Permission is granted for air passengers and for maintaining airport and port services.

The subject Minister in charge of Agriculture and Trade should effectively coordinate these activities, the Government has directed.
