* 298 Sri Lankan pilgrims return from India

Mar 22, Colombo: A group of 298 Sri Lankan Buddhist pilgrims went on Dambadiva tours in India have arrived in the island last night.

The group has arrived at Katunayake airport at 10.40 pm last night on the SriLankan Airlines UL-196 flight from New Delhi, India.

The Sri Lankan Army has taken the group to the Iranamadu Quarantine center in five special buses while several container trucks have transported their luggage.

Sri Lanka Ministry of Foreign relations last week said that a total of 871 Sri Lankan Buddhist pilgrims, belonging to 17 tour groups were remaining in India, expecting to return to Sri Lanka from New Delhi and Chennai.
