* Curfew extended till Tuesday in Colombo, Gampaha and Puttalam Districts

Mar 21, Colombo: The Department of Government Information announced that the curfew imposed in the Colombo, Gampaha and Puttalam Districts have been extended until 6.00 am on Tuesday (24th).

On Tuesday the curfew will be lifted at 6.00 am and re-imposed at 2.00 pm on the same day in the three districts.

The curfew imposed in the rest of the country will be lifted at 6.00 am on Monday (23) and re-imposed at 2.00 pm the same day. The curfew in these areas will be in force until 6.00 am on Tuesday.

The Sri Lankan government imposed an islandwide curfew from 6 pm Friday (20) until 6 am Monday (23) to curtail the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus.

Notice regarding the imposing of further curfew in all districts will be notified later. The government notified that during the times that the curfew is lifted all liquor shops should remain closed.

The government has also notified the police to allow the farmers in farming areas to engage in their farming activities without any hindrance.

The government notified the public not to unnecessarily stock goods as there are ample stocks available. Permission has been granted for the transport of vegetables and other essential items. Further, measures have been taken to transport all essential goods to required areas without obstruction.
