* Nearly 45,000 police officers deployed for duty

Mar 21, Colombo: Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Ajith Rohana says that nearly 45,000 police officers have been deployed in the country for official duties.

The police officers have been deployed to take immediate action against the curfew violators, DIG Rohana said.

He further stated that steps will be taken to seal the immovable property of the violators and seize the movable property.

The government has imposed a three-day curfew from 6 pm Friday (20) until 6 am Monday (March 23) to restrict the movement of the people with the objective of preventing the spread of coronavirus.
