* Coronavirus: All postal services suspended in Sri Lanka

Mar 20, Colombo: Due to the prevailing situation in the country, all postal services have been suspended till further notice, Postmaster General Ranjith Ariyaratne informed.

All parcels and goods received from overseas will be retained at the Central Mail Exchange for the time being and will be distributed once the situation returns to normal.

The Post Master General also said that payments of senior citizen's allowance and medical allowance have been stopped as it is dangerous for senior citizens and those with existing medical conditions to come to offices to collect them.

Steps will be taken to restart paying the allowance one day after postal services return to normal, he assured.
