* Sri Lanka to reopen movie theaters on June 27

June 19, Colombo: The Ministry of Cultural Affairs says that all cinema halls in the country will be reopened from the 27th of this month.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs Bandula Harischandra stated that permission will be granted to open cinemas in accordance with health guidelines. All movie theaters will be disinfected before opening.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs said the health guidelines to be followed by the movie goers will be issued in the future.

The movie theaters island wide closed on March 14 due to the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic and they have been closed for over three months.

Over 100 movies are currently in the list to be screened, the Ministry said.
