June 09, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has instructed the Health Secretary to allow health workers who have worked with COVID-19 patients the opportunity to spend two to three days with their families in the most luxurious hotels in Sri Lanka.
Health and Indigenous Medicine Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi said she was informed by the President to award the health staff members to enjoy time with their family members leisurely at luxury hotels in Sri Lanka.
She made this revelation at a special discussion held with the directors of hospitals providing treatment to COVID-19 patients today (09) at the auditorium of the Ministry of Health under the patronage of Minister Wanniarachchi.
Hospital Directors and Doctors have informed the Minister of Health about the problems faced by the patients and health staff when treating COVID-19 patients.
The Secretary to the Ministry of Health, Major General Sanjeewa Munasinghe has been advised to look into these issues and take necessary measures to address the concerns.
