June 08, Colombo: Minister of Industrial Export, Investment Promotion, Tourism and Aviation Minister Prasanna Ranatunga states that a concessionary package will be implemented covering all sectors in tourism industry in the near future.

The Minister said that the relevant Cabinet paper has been submitted to the Cabinet.

The Minister made this statement during a discussion with representatives of the Lanka Association Monday.

The representatives of the association presented the problems faced by them as the bus owners in obtaining the tax relief granted by the government due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

They pointed out that with the collapse of tourism industry due to the epidemic, their businesses had completely collapsed.

Responding the concerns of the bus owners, Minister Prasanna Ranatunga stated that the government has paid attention to solving the problems of the bus owners who have been affected by the epidemic.

The Minister further stated that steps are being taken to submit a proposal regarding the issues to the Cabinet.
