* Sri Lanka to hold polling rehearsal tomorrow to conduct elections amid COVID-19

June 06, Colombo: Sri Lanka will hold a polling rehearsal tomorrow in preparation for the upcoming general election amid the COVID-19 outbreak.

The polling rehearsal will be held tomorrow (June 7) from 10 am to 12 noon at Ambalangoda Vilegoda Dhammayukthikarama Temple under the patronage of Chairman of the Elections Commission Mahinda Deshapriya.

About 200 voters will be participating in the rehearsal, which aims to identify the problems that may arise when operating the polling centers in accordance with the necessary health regulations.

The rehearsals will be held in conformity with health safety regulations, such as maintaining distance, using face masks and hand sanitizers and avoiding touching identity cards when voting process begins.
