Wed, Jun 3, 2020, 11:21 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

June 03, Colombo: With the prevailing dengue threat in the Colombo Municipal Council limits, a Dengue Prevention Campaign will be held for four days on June 04, 05, 06 and 07, the Municipal Commissioner of Colombo said.

During the campaign covering each area within the city all premises will be inspected for dengue mosquito breeding. A public health inspector, a police officer and an employee of the solid waste disposal management division are participating in these inspections.

Plans are afoot to inspect and clean all drainage systems, drains and manholes in Colombo city in line with the dengue prevention campaign.

The Municipal Commissioner informs the public that if mosquito breeding grounds are found in the premises inspected, legal action will be taken against the owners.
