June 03, Colombo: Minister of Health and Indigenous Medicine Pavithra Wanniarachchi says that the Ministry of Health has issued necessary guidelines to the Elections Commission on holding the forthcoming General Election.

The guidelines on how the postal vote should be conducted, which public servants should participate in the postal vote, how to conduct election meetings, how to do house-to-house propaganda, how to conduct polls on Election Day, how to conduct the counting of votes and other matters have been given to the Election Commission, according to the Minister.
A Health Ministry team including Dr. Anil Jasinghe, the Director General of Health Services, will hold a discussion with the Election Commission today (03), the Minister of Health said.
The Minister of Health added that with the Election Commission receiving the guidelines including the recommendations of the Ministry today, the Elections Commission will be able to implement the arrangements for safely holding the general election soon.
