* Closed State institutions to re-open in three ways
Sat, Apr 18, 2020, 11:01 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Apr 18, Colombo: The government has paid attention to re-commence the duties of all the closed ministries and state institutions in three ways.

Accordingly, a special mechanism is to be introduced to re-open state institutions in the areas where the curfew is enforced continuously.

It has been decided to call the employees of the government institutions in these districts only once a week. The government has also taken steps to revise the working hours of the employees to minimize the congestion when reporting for duty.

The Secretary to the Ministry of Urban Development and member of the Presidential Task Force on Preventing COVID-19, Dr. Priyath Bandu Wickrama, said they had met yesterday to look into how the relevant activities could be carried out.

Meanwhile, the government is due to announce the exit strategy formulated to revive the economy and to ensure the return of the lives of people who have been affected by the spread of the coronavirus to normalcy during the weekend.
