Apr 14, Colombo: Sri Lanka reported 15 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday raising the total number of people contracted the coronavirus to 233.
Director General of Health Services Dr. Anil Jasinghe fourteen new cases of coronavirus infection have been identified within the day today.
The Director General of Health Services said that all the 14 patients identified were from quarantine centers and were known to have closely associated with coronavirus patients.
Eight of the confirmed patients have been identified at the Palaly quarantine center, while 4 from the Mulankovil quarantine center and one from the Puttalam quarantine center have been identified.
According to the Health Promotion Bureau report released at 10 pm Tuesday, 165 total active patients are receiving treatment at hospitals while 142 individuals are currently under investigations in hospitals.
Seven patients have died and 61 patients including the Chinese tourist, who was the first COVID-19 case detected in the country in January and discharged last month, have fully recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
