* Sri Lanka makes wearing face masks mandatory when stepping out

Apr 11, Colombo: The government has taken steps to make it mandatory to wear face masks when stepping outside on roads and traveling.

Police Media Spokesperson SP Jaliya Senaratne said it has been made mandatory for people to wear face masks when they are outside of their homes for any reason not only when crossing district boundaries.

He said Acting Inspector General of Police has issued a circular notifying all police stations to enforce the measure taken as a step to control the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.
