* Postal Department to assist home delivery of essential goods

Apr 05, Colombo: Arrangements have been made to expedite the delivery of essential goods to the homes during the island wide curfew imposed due to COVID–19, says the headquarters operations unit of the Sri Lanka Postal Special Distribution Service.

With the mediation of the Minister Dr. Bandula Gunawardena, the Sri Lanka Postal Service has started distributing essential goods to the homes.

Accordingly the Postal Department on Sunday said it is willing to assist supermarkets with the home delivery of essential items and invited all supermarket owners to join the department for this national task.

The Department said post offices distributed across the country will be able to facilitate the delivery of these goods in a safe manner.

Accordingly, the owners of supermarkets have been requested to contact the following numbers in order to partner with the Department of Posts for home delivery services;
