* Sri Lanka court sentences two Indians to life imprisonment for trafficking heroin

Sept 17, Colombo: A Sri Lankan court today sentenced two Indian nationals to life imprisonment for smuggling in, possessing and trafficking heroin in Sri Lanka.

The Negombo High Court found the two Indians guilty of smuggling heroin into Sri Lanka.

One of the suspects, Danivelmani, had smuggled in 212 grams of heroin to Sri Lanka on December 28, 2017. The other suspect, Jalaldeen Mohamed, was found guilty on charges of smuggling, possessing and trafficking 837 grams of heroin on 28 August 2016.
