* Alumex introduces Sri Lanka's first locally manufactured proprietary aluminium systems (ABS)
Sun, Oct 20, 2019, 09:07 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Oct 20, Colombo: Sri Lanka's aluminium industry market leaders, Alumex PLC, a subsidiary of Hayleys Group, announced the introduction of a new range of internationally accredited aluminium proprietary product ranges for the domestic and commercial markets under the Alumex Building Systems (ABS) brand.

The new ABS range is designed to withstand tough weather conditions and is recommended specially for high-rises - accommodating a glazing thickness up to 24mm - and comprised of unitized curtain wall systems - both structural glazing and beaded type; windows, doors and sliding systems.

Notably, the testing of the entire ABS range is carried out according to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards in an international independent laboratory in Dubai which is United Kingdom Accreditation Services (UKAS) accredited.

"The introduction of Alumex Building Systems represents a major milestone for the Sri Lankan construction sector as a whole. We are proud to be able to meet the growing domestic demand for aluminium systems, thereby removing the need to rely on imported materials. Alumex is the only Sri Lankan manufacturer capable of producing internationally tested and UKAS accredited aluminium proprietary systems," Alumex PLC Managing Director, Pramuk Dediwela stated.

"The tests conducted for water penetration, air infiltration, wind pressure and safety, have all shown extremely positive results with ABS performing well above standard. The advantage for customers cannot be understated given that Alumex offers total solutions from aluminium accessories, hardware and gaskets, to additional benefits such as our single system warranty for products used in ABS - ensuring optimal after sales care, as part of its overall product offering,"

This introduction represents the latest in a series of pioneering initiatives by Alumex PLC which launched their first tested sliding door and casement window systems in 2016. The company continuously designs and adds to its massive portfolio of products in order to cater to the rapidly increasing market demand in Sri Lanka's burgeoning construction sector.

Alumex is the only local aluminium manufacturer to possess Qualicoat, Qualanod and Qualicoat SEASIDE international accreditations owing to their superior production processes. Alumex also manufactures a comprehensive range of products by world renowned brands under license in their state-of-the-art factories for Aluminium Proprietary Building Systems with applications in Windows, Doors & Facades.
