* Prominent members of Ceylon Workers Congress to support Sajith

Oct 15, Colombo: A large number of supporters of the Ceylon Workers Congress joined the National Workers Union led by Minister Palani Digambaram to support the United Presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa and to further the work of Minister Digambaram in the plantation sector.

Prominent supporters of the Ceylon Workers' Congress in the Nuwara Eliya district M. Malarvasagami and former Pradeshiya Sabha member of the Nuwara Eliya Pradeshiya Sabha, N.W. Virasami yesterday met with Minster Digambaram at his ministry and obtained membership National Union of Workers (NUW), a member of the Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA.

At a media conference held in Colombo yesterday Minister Digambaram said the estate workers will give their fullest support to New Democratic Front candidate Sajith Premadasa during the forthcoming presidential election.

He further said that some prominent members of Ceylon Workers Congress have extended their support to presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa.

Although the Arumugam Thondaman's Ceylon Workers' Congress is supporting Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, Minister Sajith Premadasa will win the Nuwara Eliya District with 200,000 votes, Minister Palani Digambaram said.
