* Forensic audit reports revealing irregularities in bond transactions since 2005 will be out in November
Sat, Oct 12, 2019, 09:05 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Oct 12, Colombo: Central Bank Governor Dr. Indrajith Coomaraswamy says the reports of five out of six forensic audits probing irregularities in the bond transactions before and after 2015 will be received in November.

He said that the Monetary Board will consider these audit reports and forward them to the Attorney General for further legal action.

Dr. Coomaraswamy made this observation in response to a question raised during the media briefing held at the Central Bank Headquarters in Colombo yesterday.

He said the independent audits will reveal whether there were any Irregularities in the investment of the Employees Provident Fund in the Bond Transactions during the governments before and after 2015.

Responding to a query as to whether the reports will be made known to the public, he said that steps would be taken to seek the advice of the attorney general and the legal branches on whether to release the reports to public.
