* Gotabaya leaves for Singapore for medical examination
Fri, Oct 11, 2019, 12:10 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Oct 10, Colombo: Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, former Defense Secretary and presidential candidate of Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) left for Singapore in the early hours of today, following Court permission granted to travel overseas.

Former Defense Secretary had sought permission from the three members Special High Court to travel overseas for a medical test. He had also sought for the release of his passport which was in the custody of the judiciary.

Considering this request, the Permanent High Court at Bar granted permission earlier this month to former Defense Secretary to travel overseas for a medical examination from the 9th to 12th of October.

Accordingly, he left for Singapore this morning.
