Nov 18, Colombo: Sri Lanka Customs officials at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake have arrested a Kenyan woman, who arrived from Doha, Qatar carrying cocaine pills.

The Customs officials initially found 30 cocaine pills hidden in her hand luggage. Following questioning the Customs officials learned that the 35-year-old woman had concealed more cocaine pills by swallowing them.

The suspect was admitted to the Negombo Base Hospital to remove the cocaine pills.

The Customs will report the incident to the Negombo Magistrate's Court today and get a seven-day detention order to detain the suspect. The suspect will be handed over to the Colombo Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.
